parade of participantsCSWDO joins  in the 30th Natl.DISABILITY Prevention & Rehabilitation Week with its theme : Kapag may Access, May Success. There was a short parade in the premises of the Barba Sports Complex to grace the event.The invocation was led by Lyn Lantaya(ADAPTC) and national anthem  by Ms. Geraldine Elemino.The welcome remarks was given by Rogelio de Gracia (ADAPTC).Inspiring messages were given by Mrs. Sonia Sy, Mr.Bonifacio Tatad (in behalf of the Vice-Mayor)  with pride also, Engr. Rey Merida of AMCHA, our outstanding Disabled Filipino in Visayas gave his warm response as one of the recepients of the A. Mabini Awards 2008 and other resource speakers. Intermission numbers came from the participants showcasing their hidden talents and ingenuity of portraying the best role ever, like Jesselyn(with disability) and Jordan, special child. At noontime, they had mass and were given free lunch and snacks. In the afternoon session, there were resource speakers,Mr. Gonzalo Baybay (Transportation Regulation Officer)Engr. Salvador Sanes and the City Health Officer, Dr. Tiburcio Dacalos who also  rendered free consultation. The staff of the Lebumfacil-Sta.Ana Foundation gave  free medical mission & distributed capsules and vitamins for free. Not only that, they  had  picture taking for their I.D., and enjoyed the parlor games spearheaded by the NORFIL Foundation. Prizes and awards were given to the winners by CSWDO. Afterwhich, they had group picture taking and everyone was delighted of the activity because they were able to feel the warmth and attention given to the people with disability. For all the efforts & services, thanks  to the City government & CSWDO and to the rest of the agencies concerned in making the activity a reality.
