in celebration of the Cebu Province founding anniversary , Toledo City as component city supported the celebration and just like in the City, there will be no work for the employees of the City government.

Soon to open in Toledo City, Metro Gaisano will hold   its groundbreaking ceremony together with Mayor Arlene Zambo, City officials and other guests.  Metro Gaisano located at D. Macapagal Highway, corner Barba St., will soon be a commercial hub and people can now enjoy shopping  and bonding with family and friends .

The arrival of former president Erap Estrada was welcomed by Toledo officials and toledanos. They arrived at lunchtime, together with their convoy at the Toledo City hall, and sped off to travellers inn where they had lunch, and had motorcade at the Toledo public market.

Toledo contingent will vie for the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo , in the Festival of Festivals showcasing the " Hinulawan" . After months of preparation, Toledo hopes to make it to the festival. They will be among the 34 contingents to compete with other festivals from the Province of Cebu(more updates to follow)

Toledo City sets its first ever heritage quiz bee to different schools in the City on August 19, 2009 at the M.A. Barba Sports Complex.
