Alay Lakad : Feedback Report

This year's Alay Lakad was spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Toledo West. It was celebrated last September 17, 2006, Sunday. This year's theme was " Sa Bawat Hakbang, Kabuhayan Para Sa Kabataan ."

City Officials led by the City Mayors, Sp Members, Non Government organizations, Private Sectors, Business Establishments and Students both in public and private schools participated the Alay Lakad walk.

Representative from the Office of Dr. Carolino Mordeno, DepEd Regional Director and Board Member Victoria Corominas gave inspirational messages to the viewing public. Congressman Antonio Yapha Jr. during his keynote speech pledge to share P100,000.00 and also the representative of Board Member Victoria Corominas also promised to share P25,000.00 to the Alay Lakad Foundation for the benefit of the out-of school youth of Toledo City.

Two (2) College Scholars, Iresh Nabesis and Ritcha Geronca gave responses expressing their thanks and gratitude to all the kindness and blessings they have received from the Alay Lakad Foundation through its generous donors.

Streamers were solicited and hang at conspicuous places for the information of the public regarding Alay Lakad activities in the City.

With the full support of all the working committee, business establishments were solicited including different organized groups in the barangay like farmers, fishermen, cooperatives, tricycle drivers, religious organization and women's group thereby raising funds for the out-of school youths.

Intermission numbers were presented from Consolatrix College, Toledo City Foundation for Special Children and ASMC De La Salle making the program more livelier.

Coronation of Mr. & Ms. Alay Lakad highlighted the activity holding the audience till the end of the program.

Drum and Bugle Corps from the different schools and organizations in the city participated in the walk from both starting points.

Awards were given to the Biggest Delegation, Most Colorful and Biggest Contributor. Trophies were solicited from the City Mayor's Office.
Based of Judges was composed of personalities from the Judiciary based in Toledo City.
