Unbelievable yet true, Toledanos are flourishing nowadays in any field of endeavor. Marvin a young looking father at 29, is one of the promising artists in our country today. Full of dedication and dream to capture into his canvass the different meanings of existence. To many, an artist is somewhat serious, a little bit weird or peculiar because of the vision and inmountable imagination and concentration, but Marvin is on his feet who appreciates the realities of his sorroundings. Itis because he loved so much his youth, appreciates the lovefrom his parents and now from his own family. Marvin presently working as a Drafsman at the City Engineering Office, writes and reads poems and scribbles articles on various topics and submits it to some publications. He started from humble beginnings. He finished his elementary studies from North City Central School, secondary from Toledo National Vocational School all in Toledo City. He took Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technologyfrom Cebu State College of Science and Technology in Cebu City in 1998. He is a member of the Binhi Art Group and had participated on several art exhibitions. A recipient of the following awards: Third Place-Metrobank Art and Design Excellence National Competition Oil on Canvass Painting Category (September 2006) and Third Place Dona Modesta Gaisano On The Spot Painting Competition in Carcar, Cebu. Going for the gold made Marvin sweat many because he went through several trials. There were times that he felt it was already winning and yet his best wasn't convincing enough in the eyes of the judges. Sometimes it was heart breaking yet he persisted in pursuing his dreams. He wishes to share his talent to the children of Toledo City and his first dream target is the children of the New Lingap Center during summer time. It will be his happiness as an artist to share this talent and discover the young people's artistic potentials. Mayor Dydee Zambo considers Marvin as one of the treasures at the City Hall for he is humble, hardwoking and dedicated to the perfection of his job.
