HINULAWAN FESTIVAL '09 BOOST TOLEDO'S PRIDE

The 2009 Hinulawan festival was every Toledano's pride having  showcase contingents from 6 different schools in the City. (U.V., Luray II NHS, Voctl. School, La Salle, Consolatrix College, DAS NHS) who performed the fest at their best.
 
At exactly 12:00, the street dancing started at the City Central School. Hinulawan "hinaguang bulawan" depicts the history of the City's past to the present  era expressed through dancing & ritual and also in honor of Patron saint San Juan de Sahagun. This year's Hinulawan festival was championed by the Toledo National Vocational School, rank second was  the Consolatrix College and third came ASMC.

      Before the official contest, the City also herald the arrival of the tourists both foreign & locals from the Suroy-suroy sugbo -midwest adventure of the Cebu Provincial Capitol of Gov. Gwen Garcia and the Tourism Council. There were 4 tourist bus, and all of them came to witness the yearly festival, dropping first at the shrine of St. John of Sahagun.

Greeting their arrival were host of angels , drum corps, cordon of dancers as they passed by going to the converging area  which  made the festive atmosphere of the City even more livelier.

It was also graced with the presence of the first Lady Gov. in the province of Cebu, Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Cong.Pablo John Garcia, Board member Agnes Magpale, Board member Victoria Corominas and guests from the Tourism Council. It was also well-attended by the City
 Mayor, Vice-Mayor and the City officials. There was also a wide participation from the  press and media men of Cebu in which the City was most grateful.
 

It was a  spectacular show of musicality, dancing, choreography and the like . Everyone were also enthralled with the dancing of the song "Mabuhi" by Gov. Gwen Garcia and the City officials . The over-all choreographer was Engr. Junjet Primor who was elated and happy of the success of the
Hinulawan festival. Hosted by Mrs. Trinidad Bubuli, the fest was worth all the committee's efforts until the reception which was held at the Toledo Commercial arcade place. The reception was in grandeur and serves native Filipino dishes & cuisine as arranged by the City Agriculture office & the commitee  . With the beat of drums,the guests had fine sumptous dining at its best. Usherettes and Tour guides from Toledo gave hospitality to the tourists in the arrival and also in sending off the tourists to their next destination --- Balamban. 

The fireworks display culminates the midwest tour in Toledo City.Defined as memorable and splendid in its own way! Congratulations to all the working commitees and the Toledano's.  (refer to Hinulawan festival in the events site for the rationale, mechanics & criteria)
